YFI Announces New Transitional Housing and Equine Culture Impact Initiatives

We are excited to announce our two initial Impact Initiatives! These will be “Made Ready Ministries” and “Project 3218.”

Made Ready Ministries is inspired by Proverbs 21:31, “The horse is made ready for battle, but the victory belongs to the Lord.” Throughout scripture the horse is seen as both an image of STRENGTH and PEACE. By nature, it is an animal of peace that can be EQUIPPED and MADE READY for any challenge it may face. Made Ready Ministries is focused on BRIDGING and STRENGTHENING COMMUNITIES through equine culture and proactively equipping members of the community for impact in the cause of Christ.

The efforts of this ministry will bring people together from various communities that may not ever have the opportunity to interact with each other or with equine culture. In doing so, we will give them an opportunity to share an experience that is NEW, PEACEFUL, and UPLIFTING by interacting and engaging with each other and many different parts of equine culture.

Project 3218 is inspired by Isaiah chapter 32 and verse 18, “My people will live in peaceful dwelling places, in secure homes, in undisturbed places of rest.” We believe having a home is foundational to providing peace and purpose in the lives of people. When individuals and families feel safe and secure, they can even more seek a relationship with Christ and others.

With Project 3218 we desire to both build the Clarksville and Montgomery county communities physically and spiritually. This project will introduce opportunities to expand life skills and financial literacy by providing various stages of transitional housing. Our vision is to create opportunities for participants in the project to graduate these stages to ultimately owning their own home with the capacity to support themselves and their family spiritually, relationally, and financially.

The Yow Foundation Launches new YFI Brand

WE HAVE EXCITING NEWS!!! We have been planning all year for this week. We will be making announcements throughout the week that we know will help us to better serve and support the Montgomery County/Clarksville communities. Please check in with us each day for these exciting announcements.

We would like to introduce you to our NEW BRAND!!! Here’s its story…The image representing our organization has been intentionally designed to be both professional and caring simultaneously. It has a motion to it to mimic our movement as a living, breathing, organization that is going to be active and alive in our community.

The script text was inspired through a meditation on our foundational passage in Corinthians. We have a very deep passion for living out the two greatest commands, Loving God and Loving People. We strongly desire those threads to be evident in all we do. The book of Corinthians is filled with the message of Grace and Love of Christ. The Corinthians were wicked sinners when Paul came to them, but his ministry of the gospel of God’s grace completely changed their lives. In 2nd Corinthians chapter 3 verse 3, Paul writes, “You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the Living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.”

The script text and the heart image in our branding have been brought together to represent the “Cause of Christ” that has been written on each of our hearts to purse Loving God and Loving people in each initiative of YFI.

Our mission, “To further the cause of Christ through good works done in His name” was inspired by 1st Corinthians chapter 10 and verse 31. However, beyond verse 31 into verse 33 it says, “For I am not seeking my own good, but the good of many.” This message of “reaching all” inspired our tagline, “For the Good of Many,” and very clearly speaks from one of our key passages that we are called as Christians and as an organization to do good beyond our immediate influence in many different ways.

Upcoming Event 8/22

We will be hosting our very first “Horse Around Town” event! This will be the launching event of our impact initiative “Made Ready Ministries.” We will be hosting multiple “Horse Around Town” events each year to engage and bring together members of the Clarksville/Montgomery County communities. The event will be focused on bringing together and celebrating members of the City and County first responder communities and members of all ethnic communities.

YFI will be partnering with Reinless Resilience, I’m Invisible, Tropical Smoothie Café, The Church of Christ at Trenton Crossing Youth Group, and the Clarksville Police Department to host this event where those in attendance will have an opportunity to share in various aspects of equine culture and enjoy the day together with other fun community building activities. The event and each activity will be COVID-19 safe.
